Installation Performance: Discussion Notes [Group Meeting Minutes]

Rule: "That's your point and I respect that"

Ask audience to define the word 'perfect' and what it means to them.

Intro: As young women we have noticed that our generation, as well as many before us, are affected highly by the impact on how we perceive ourselves and misleads us. Our aim is to expose the media for how they exaggerate the perfect image of a woman, and hopefully we can highlight this.
[Intro may be just inserted into the Power-point first slide]

~Audience - Hand pick from different years? ~

Discussion Questions:
1)How does that (power-point & video) make you feel?
2)Why do you think the media shows people this perfect image of a woman?
3)Do you think women are aware that they spend an excessive amount of money on make up & clothes?
4)If you were the woman in the video, would you be comfortable about your picture being altered like that?
5)Do you care and about what you look like when you leave your house?
6)Why do you think you care?
7)Do you think people care about what you look like? And if yes, then how does that affect you or how you see yourself?
8)What do you think is the main reason why people may wear lots of make up? For example does it stem from peer pressure etc?

*Activity: Hand out paper and a pen to each member of the audience, and ask them to write down one thing they don't like about themselves, and the person next to them to say one good thing about the other (Game/Activity used to boost their confidence in themselves).

Rhetorical Question to audience to end off [to be used at end of discussion, or end of whole performance -not decided yet] 'What does perfect mean to you now?'
